Help fight food insecurity

A recent Watauga Democrat article highlighted a substantial increase in food pantry utilization. In response, Employee Wellness has aligned our Quarter 3 Love Your Life Wellness Challenge to meet the increased food need in our communities including our own employee food pantries. No one should go hungry.

Quarter 2 Wellness Challenge

April 1 – 30

We have modified our popular Take 10 for Your Team challenge and present Take 10 for YOU. While Take 10 for Your Team focused on walking breaks, this Challenge encourages you to take a short break at least once a day. You choose how to spend those 10 minutes – whether its stepping outside for a breath of fresh air, grabbing a snack, checking social media, or going to sit somewhere quietly. The choice is yours. Breaks are an important part of your resiliency and health. As the last two years have shown us, overworking can lead to chronic stress and burnout. Breaks are essential in helping you recharge for the remainder of your workday.

ARHS Cares

Quarter 3 Wellness Challenge

July 1 – 31, 2021

Program Purpose:

The last 14-15 months have been difficult for sure…not just at work but also in our everyday lives. That’s why the focus for Employee Wellness over the last year has been about self-care, emotional health, and departmental engagement – resilience. We continue this intention with the creation of our Quarter 3 Wellness Challenge: ARHS Cares. To support employees’ resilience, ARHS Cares allows teams to participate more an inward level through weekly self care activities OR from an outward expansion of showering blessings on other departments. Because you can’t pour from an empty cup.

How to participate:

Step one: Leaders, meet with your teams about participation and get your employees input on participating in the Self Care track or the Organization Track. Use the Challenge Guide for what participation looks like as well as resources.

Step two: Register your department using the form below. Employee Wellness will follow up with you and your team for individual sign ups.
