Changes in Wellness Credits for Quarter 4, 2020

Due to IRS regulations regarding annual HSA contributions and the roll-out of our new wellness partner, Bravo, the Quarter 4 Love Your Life Wellness Credit options have changed for just this quarter. Each year, employees are eligible for up to $400 Wellness Credits Love Your Life, which includes HSA deposits. With your incentive payment in October 2020, employees will have received the max eligible for HSA deposits in 2020 ($400):

  • Q4 2019 – Paid $100 in January 2020
  • Q1 2020 – Paid $100 in April 2020
  • Q2 2020 – Paid $100 in July 2020
  • Q3 2020 – Paid $100 in October 2020

Your Quarter 4 incentive is usually paid in January. With the roll-out of our new wellness vendor, our Quarter 4 Wellness Credit incentive will be awarded early, in December. You may choose any of the incentive options except for HSA in quarter 4: Mast Store, Footsloogers, Boone Bike, Foscoe Fishing, Rhoddie Bicycles, Clean Eatz, Wellness Center, YMCA of Avery, and Powered By Employees. These gifts are considered taxable income by the IRS and will be included on the December 18 payday – the same day your gift card will be available. Our new program for 2021 will be released online in December and run through November 2021. Up to $400 in Wellness Credits options, including HSA, will be available.

Dates: When it’s right for your October 1 – December 10

Holiday season is upon us! While the last 3 months of the year bring wonderful opportunities to gather with friends and family and give thanks for our blessings, the holiday season can also offer serious challenges to healthy living. We can fall out of our regular routines and fall into those holiday distractions.

The 12-Days of Self Care will help you keep your mind focused and your body in good health and spirits. There are four different categories of self-care in our Challenge: Fitness, Nutrition, Well-being, and Community. Your goal is to complete three (or more) different activities from each of the four categories.

When it’s right for you, take our 12 Days of Self Care Challenge. Complete the Challenge by Quarter’s End (October – December 10) for 25 Love Your Life points.

Iron Chef Virtual

How to participate and earn 50 Love Your Life points

  1. Pick one of our featured ingredients (or both if you are exceedingly talented at blending flavors):
    • Eggplant
    • Peach
  2. Get cooking with your featured ingredient choice: Use a favorite or new recipe or even create something unique yourself!
  3. Submit a summary description of your dish, your full recipe AND a photo of the finished dish.
    • Deadline: August 28th

Judging criteria:

Once all entries are in, our panel of judges will be judging on:

  • Visual presentation – Since we can’t taste your creations, the visual presentation is how you sell your dish’s taste to the judges.
  • Healthfulness of recipe – Does this mean you can’t send us your cobbler recipe or favorite fried eggplant dish? Absolutely not. But the lighter and more healthful your dish (along with that important visual presentation), the better your score will be.
  • Incorporation of featured ingredient in recipe – Did you slice up your peaches as a garnish (low to zero points) or did you use it as the centerpiece of your dish?

Recognition, Bragging Rights and Iron Chef Honors to:

  • Top 3 Judges’ scores featured in ARHS cafeterias
  • Crowd Favorite – Vote at the Love Your Life Facebook group. Not a member? Join today! Search for ARHS Love Your Life

Q3 Mental Well-Being Challenge

Q3 Mental Well-Being Challenge

Spread Some Loving Kindness

Be well. Together.

One thing we can all use more of right now is a little loving-kindness. Recently, the American Heart Association recommended this meditation as a way to practice feeling unconditional compassion for ourselves and others. This practice can help you feel more grounded by expanding your empathy and connection within and with others.

How does it work?

When it is right for you, take the mental well-being challenge before the end of Quarter 3 (July 1st-September 30th). Set aside 15-30 minutes for 15 days to sit quietly and direct kindness and love to yourself and expand the kindness outwardly to others. Complete this challenge by the end of September for 25 Love Your Life points.

About E2E

E2E is an emergency fund for ARHS employees. ARHS supports the efforts of its employees to assist their coworkers in crisis through donations to the E2E Fund when there is an unanticipated need for emergency financial assistance. An employee can access the E2E fund when he/she or immediate family member has been diagnosed with illness/injury which has resulted in financial hardship for the employee or if a catastrophic event causes an emergency/crisis situation for the employee. Requests generally include emergency food, clothing, or shelter, housing payment to prevent eviction/foreclosure, utility expenses limited to electricity/heat/water/sewer, or expenses related to a disaster (fire, flood, etc).
